GTK is now seeking a Grant Writer to support new Science and Innovation project preparations and to seek new project opportunities us. We offer you a dynamic and challenging position in a constantly evolving international work environment. Your working community consist of highly experienced and motivated scientists and specialists. You will be based in Espoo office but we expect you to have possibility for travelling within Finland and Europe.

The Main Responsibilities for the Grant Writer are:

  • To monitor important funding opportunities, such as, EU Framework Programs, EIT RawMaterials, Business Finland and Finnish Academy.
  • To prepare funding proposals including the consortium building, proposal writing, proposal editing, budgeting and submission.
  • To support and to review proposal texts and budgets drafted by GTK´s research teams.
  • To support ongoing projects as participating in their coordination tasks.
  • To cooperate with GTK´s project management team & units.

The Competencies required for the Grant Writer:

  • MSc or PhD degree in natural sciences or engineering.
  • Profound knowledge of various funding instruments.
  • Extensive work experience in proposal writing and preferably also project management, with a proven track record in securing new funding opportunities.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, organizational and conflict solving skills.
  • Experience of working in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge in geosciences and broad EU networks are considered as advantages.

You will be positioned at GTK's Espoo office, which is a high end, newly renovated working environment with very pleasant atmosphere, and it is located right in the middle of the developing Otaniemi Campus area, next to subway station. The benefits of the job include a working week of 36.75 hours with daily flexibility, weekly 2-3 days telecommuting opportunity, generous annual holidays and a healthcare and pension plan. The Grant Writer will be hired first for a fixed two year period, with a possibility for permanent employment.
