Senior Specialist in Base and Battery Metals

We are looking for a senior specialist to join our team in the Ore and Industrial Minerals unit.

You will focus on base and battery metal projects as an expert or as a project manager. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out bedrock raw material studies together with other experts in Finland and internationally. Your other tasks include research and consultation project generation and different consulting assignments in Finland and abroad. Promotion of mineral exploration and mining industry in Finland will be an important part of your role together with customer procurement. In addition you will develop quality systems to correspond to the best industrial practices.

An applicant must have an MSc or PhD degree in geology. In addition, we require that you have solid international experience in the business sector (mineral exploration and mining companies). Fluent spoken and written English skills are absolute requirements for the position, as is the readiness to travel when carrying out international assignments. We also require that you have experience in demanding project management tasks.

We expect that you have a good knowledge of deposits and geology related to the base and battery metals. Furthermore, we expect that you have knowledge of the best international practices regarding mineral resource assessments and preferably the status of a Qualified Person (QP) or a Competent Person (CP), as well as knowledge of the preparation and auditing of different technical assessments. We also expect that you have experience in the structural and mineral geological mapping of the bedrock and 3D modelling.

Knowledge of different research funding instruments and experience in different GIS and 3D modelling software's are advantages.

The salary will be determined in accordance with complexity class 10 and the competence of the person appointed to the position. The total salary at the beginning of employment will be approximately EUR 4,390-4,670 per month.
