GTK is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the KTR Circular Economy Solution research team, and is opening a postdoctoral position in the field of digitization in process engineering.
GTK Mintec is currently preparing to upgrade its pilot scale process plant (flotation), with new state of the art instrumentation and the development of a machine learning AI network to manage the output data. In doing so the next generation of process engineering problem solving may be developed. This research will focus on the development of a new kind of instrumented system that will integrate comminution and flotation in an operational context. This will involve developing a new technology paradigm for mineral process practice, where if successful, phenomena of what antagonistically impacts recovery will be diagnosed and isolated across the whole circuit.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of:
The candidate must be in possession of a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Minerals Engineering, or other relevant field. He or she will have experience in instrumentation, machine learning, systems modelling and data base development. The candidate will be expected to generate a database of existing and historical data, and therefore skills in multivariate and statistical data analysis is desired.
A background in applied research and close cooperation with industry is highly desired. Fluent spoken and written English skills are requirements for the position. A record of scientific publications and attendance to international conferences would be demonstrated to show the ability to share your research. We also value knowledge on the operational challenges associated with mineral processing. Success in the position requires co-operation skills and good interaction skills.
