Researcher (geophysical inversion and electromagnetic geophysics)
The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) is looking for a researcher for the research project D-Rex funded by ERAMIN2.
You will be based in Espoo, Kuopio or Rovaniemi in Finland and be a part of the bedrock and mineral mapping team within GTK's Geophysical Solutions unit. You will be working in tight collaboration with all members of the D-Rex project team consisting of international universities, research institutes and industry.
Your research will focus on magnetotelluric and other electromagnetic data inversion and integration or joint inversion with other data sets, such as drill hole data and potential field data. This involves both the development of suitable methodologies as well as their application. You will participate in organising and performing the data collection in the field, participate in project management tasks and organise the management of diverse data sets. You will also communicate the project's research results in articles and conferences.

- You have a PhD in Geophysics, Physics, Mathematics or a related field
- You have deep understanding of geophysical inverse theory and relevant scientific programming skills
- You are ready, able and willing to travel and to do field work
- You have excellent English communication and writing skills
You have a structured and organised working style with good prioritisation skills. You take initiative and work independently. You enjoy learning new things.

Information about pay
The total salary at the beginning of employment will be approximately EUR 3 930 - 4 188 per month depending on your qualifications.

The position is fixed term. The starting date is 1.3.2021 or by agreement. The term is for three years.
