![]() The Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences at Heidelberg University invites applications for a: Full professorship in "Geology" (W3)The appointment will be made at leading professoral level and the appointee will take on the role to maintain and further enhance the international research profile at the Institute of Earth Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to represent the full scope of Geology in research and teaching. Possible research fields are the geology of sedimentary systems including sequence stratigraphy, stable isotope geochemistry, or diagenesis. Contributions to strengthen the existing ties between the research groups of the Institute of Earth Sciences, Institute of Geography, the Institute of Environmental Physics, and the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE) will be highly desirable. A strong research track record should be based on active field work connected with laboratory work, and teaching will include both lectures and field courses at all academic levels. Prerequisites for application are a university degree and (in accordance with Article 47, paragraph 2 of the Higher Education Law of the state of Baden-Württemberg) a habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship or equivalent qualifications.
