We offer an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Geology ($65,955 - $88,131) to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University (JCU). A full time, fixed term appointment to September 2021, this position is based at our state of the art facilities at the Townsville campus.
What can you accomplish in the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Magma Fertility Project team in the University's Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU). Working in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Queensland, you will contribute to developing an understanding of the tectono-magmatic history of the Mary Kathleen Domain, and links to metallogenesis as well as exploring the applicability of magma fertility concepts as an exploration tool.
What will you bring to the Role
As someone with a PhD or equivalent in Geology or Geochemistry, you will have the ambition to establish a world-class research portfolio in economic geology, geochemistry and tectonics. With your proven track record of publishing research in high quality journals together with your ability to efficiently organise and conduct research projects you will be instrumental in contributing to the growth of EGRU.
