Lecturer Geology - Igneous Petrology and Critical Resources

What you can accomplish in the role

The Lecturer, Geology (Igneous Petrology and Critical Resources) undertakes teaching and research within the Geoscience Discipline, in addition to providing administrative, outreach and marketing services for the Earth and Environmental Sciences academic Group and the university. In particular, we are seeking applicants who are willing to champion the role of women in this discipline and in STEM more broadly.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ambition to develop a strategic research portfolio in critical resources, particularly in elements or minerals crucial in transitioning to renewable and green energy solutions, in addition to established strong analytical capabilities in petrology. The successful applicant will also be required to establish a track record of research publication, attracting research funding, supervision of students and teaching into relevant disciplines within Geology and Environmental Earth Science are also inherent to this position.
