Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions, within the broad field of seismic subsurface imaging

The geophysical computational imaging and instrumentation group is looking for enthusiastic Post-Doctoral Research Fellows to join our group.

There are two vacancies within the broad field of seismic subsurface imaging, who will complement the current topics in plate tectonics, numerical subduction modelling, basin evolution, geodynamics and seismology. The positions are for a period from 2 years to 5 years and further promotions for associate professor are made according to external research funding and publications that the candidate achieved.

The group is a part of the National Geophysical Exploration Equipment Engineering Research Center and Key Lab of Geo-Exploration Instrumentation at College of Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering in Jilin University. The university is located in Changchun, China.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Develop new methods within the topics within seismic methods, ;
• Publish the results of the research;
• Initiate and develop targeted research collaborations;
• Engage in the supervision of PhD and MSc students;

Qualifications and personal qualities:

• A PhD in geophysics, or closely related discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Geology).

It should be emphasized that the candidate can come from any fields that are related to the topics in the above.

• Excellent academic writing skills;
• Good publication track record;
• Research-active with a strong drive for conducting and publishing research development.

About the position of postdoctoral research fellow:

The positions of postdoctoral research fellow are a primary fixed-term period of 2 years. The candidate can work remotely due to the pandemic. Individuals may be hired for more than one fixed-term period as a postdoctoral research fellow or promoted as associate professor at the same institution.
