King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals

Academic Positions Available in Geophysics

With the establishment of the new College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, we are at an exciting time as we build on the 50 year legacy of excellence in teaching and research and aspire to reach even higher levels of accomplishment.

A number of new positions in Geophysics are available at each of the following levels:

  • Assistant/Associate/Full Professors
  • Postdoctoral Research Associates
  • PhD students

The broad areas of interest in petroleum research include:

  • Advanced depth imaging and velocity analysis
  • Near surface characterization
  • Reservoir geophysics
  • Multiphysics
  • Passive seismology for exploration

Although candidates with expertise in other relevant areas of theoretical and experimental geophysics (e.g. numerical and/or physical seismic modeling, full waveform seismic inversion, electromagnetic imaging) are encouraged to apply.

The faculty positions are o.ered at Assistant, Associate and Full Professor level, dependent on experience. Further information about the university, the College and the positions can be obtained from the College web site: http://cpg.kfupm.edu.sa
