About the Department

The Department of Earth Sciences is an academic unit within the College of Arts and Science. The department is an internationally recognized centre of excellence in education and research in petroleum geology and geophysics. The department offers BSc in Petroleum Geosciences, MSc and PhD degrees in Earth Sciences, and plans to offer BSc in Earth and Planetary Sciences starting fall 2020.

The department currently has 13 faculty, and utilizes modern instructional laboratories and classroom facilities. The department provides ample opportunities for professional growth and for close interaction with faculty and students. The positions are open for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor ranks.

Requirements: Minimum Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or closely related field and at least 2 years of subsequent experience of teaching in a university environment, including supervision of graduate and PhD students. International reputation demonstrated by a significant publication record in the relevant field is required.
