Sedimentary systems

The Basin Analysis research group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, announces an open position (Assistant, non-tenure track) in Sedimentary Systems. Previous experience in applying one or more of the following techniques to problems in sedimentary processes and basin tectonics is preferred: (1) field sedimentology (including compilation of sedimentological data, logs and basic mapping), (2) basin analysis, and/or (3) numerical modeling of sedimentary processes and basin analysis. The candidate is expected to play an important role in managing the research group. Mentoring of students, proposal writing, and collaborative research within the group. Teaching (in English or German) is required for a minimum of 4 hours per week each semester. Teaching duties are at the Bachelors and Master level and related to sedimentology, introductory geology, or geo-computing.
