Chair in Geochemical Proxies for Palaeoenvironmental Reconstruction

The School of Earth and Environment is investing in a number of Leadership Chair appointments. In this position, we seek to appoint a world leading Earth Scientist who specializes in the application of geochemical proxies to understanding major events in the history of the Earth system.
Palaeoenvironmental reconstruction is essential to our understanding of the Earth system under conditions often very different to today. The appointee will be expected to both complement existing research at Leeds and significantly extend our expertise by integrating and expanding our current experimental, analytical, theoretical and field / application approaches in geochemistry, palaeontology and palaeoclimate research. The appointee will develop and apply new and existing geochemical proxies to help understand the evolution of the Earth, ocean and atmosphere systems through recent to deep geological time.

Salary
The salary, which is negotiable, will be within the Professorial range - minimum £59,302 p.a.
