Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Reader in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering
The School of Earth and Environment has recently established the Centre for Integrated Petroleum and Engineering Geoscience (CiPEG) and developed a BEng in Petroleum Engineering in collaboration with the School of Process, Environmental and Materials Engineering. We are looking for a Petroleum Reservoir Engineer who will be able both to meet our teaching commitments and contribute towards our integrated research capabilities.
You should have a strong and established research record in either academia or industry and should be prepared to lead and participate in multi-disciplinary research projects involving other members of the School. In terms of teaching, you will be able to teach the fundamentals of petroleum reservoir engineering as well as run introductory classes in production simulation modelling. Emphasis will be placed on the your potential to establish a successful, externally-funded research programme that complements existing strengths in petroleum geoscience, geophysics, carbon sequestration, engineering geology and numerical modelling. Facilities include the Sorby multiphase fluid flow laboratory, a large, state-of-the art, special core analysis facility for investigating multi-phase flow in porous media. A commitment to excellence in teaching is essential.
You should have postdoctoral or industrial experience with an appropriate track record of achievement.
