This exciting joint post is a result of a major initiative between the University of Leicester and the British Geological Survey. Building upon the many synergies and collaborations between the two organisations you will create a centre of excellence in physical properties and processes to address a range of societal issues, from natural resources and hazards to geological engineering and the environment.
You will establish a world leading research programme; developing a vision for research in this area, drawing on existing strengths, knowledge and expertise and building on the newly refurbished state of the art rock testing laboratories at the British Geological Survey.
You will have an outstanding academic record including internationally excellent publications and a track record of attracting funding to support your research. You will be expected to provide leadership to deliver leading-edge research and to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision.
