We wish to appoint an excellent researcher and teacher to the position of Lecturer in Petrophysics to enhance and to develop our petrophysical portfolio.
Through our participation in the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) we provide worldwide support and expertise in the fields of downhole logging, core petrophysics and core–log integration. The department is a world-leader in innovative academic and industry-based petrophysical research and teaching.
You will join our internationally-recognised dynamic Department of Geology with an excellent academic record and high-quality, peer-reviewed, publications. You will demonstrate potential to develop novel petrophysical research, including the application of advanced numerical (statistical and / or inverse based) methods within a geological context, and be able to secure research funding.
You will deliver high-quality teaching, including practical classes and fieldwork at all levels and be able to demonstrate the ability to develop innovative teaching methods. A willingness to engage with the petrophysical community across industry and academia, and a strong commitment to both research and teaching are essential.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Professor Richard England on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0116 252 3921. Further information about the Department is available from Gail Andrews, email: email@example.com.
