Post doctoral position in geochemistry/microbial ecology
Molecular characterization of soil organic material with spectroscopic methods
using synchrotron and conventional light sources
Full time, fixed for two years, to commence 1 March, 2012, or a soon as practicable thereafter.
We are seeking a Post-doctoral Research Fellow who will work on a two-year project using spectroscopic methods for characterizing molecular changes in soil organic matter (SOM) occurring during exploitation by ectomycorrhizal fungi. This is a multi-disciplinary project involving microbial ecologists at Lund University, and chemists at Umeå University and the MAX Laboratory for Synchrotron Radiation Research, Lund University. The candidate will also be encouraged to develop his/her own research program and is expected to participate in other projects funded by the strategic research area BECC - Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate.
You will have as a PhD in geochemistry, microbial ecology, analytical chemistry or within a comparable subject area, excellent communication skills, ability to work as a part of a team.
Informal enquiries may be made to Prof. Anders Tunlid (anders.Tunlid@biol.lu.se) or Prof. Per Persson (per.persson@chem.umu.se)
