The Faculty of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Geosciences of the University of Mainz has an opening for a:


Professor of Geophysics
(salary scale W2)


in the Department of Geosciences as from September 2009.


The ideal candidate will have his/her research interests in geophysics/-geodynamics, especially numerical modelling of internal earth and surface processes. An active interest and engagement in the University's new Research Centre for Earth System Science ("Geocycles") and Centre for Computational Research in the Natural Sciences (CCNS) is expected.

Teaching across Geophysics including field practicals is expected. The successful candidate must have a PhD and a "Habilitation" or comparable scientific qualifications.
