We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Basin Studies for 3 years in the first instance. We particularly welcome candidates who have or are actively seeking an externally supported fellowship. You will join a rapidly expanding team of academics and researchers in the Basin Studies and Petroleum Geoscience Research Group. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct research in stratigraphic prediction in clastic depositional systems.

Research Fellowship in Stratigraphic Prediction
You should have a track record of successfully undertaking research projects, demonstrate an ability to conduct and initiate independent research and show proof of delivery of research outputs that would be considered to have international standing. Our current expertise in the School is in clastic and carbonate sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy; structural analysis of sedimentary basins; 3D seismic technology and visualisation; reservoir characterisation and modelling; geochemistry applied to source rock and reservoir property prediction. You will be expected to develop strong collaborations across these areas to complement your own research themes. You will have a PhD or equivalent and a good publication record in leading international journals.
