Susan Cunningham Research Chair in Geology at McMaster University



The School of Geography and Earth Sciences (SGES) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in geology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning July 1, 2012.

At the time of appointment, the successful candidate must have a PhD in earth or environmental sciences, geology, or geophysics and a record of publishing in academic journals. We are particularly interested in a geologist or exploration geophysicist with a strong background and research experience in sedimentary basin analysis, petroleum geology, and/or seismic/sequence stratigraphy. Experience in the application of remote sensing and 3-D subsurface modeling, and their use in field-based research is desired. The candidate is expected to develop a well-funded, externally recognized, research program. The applicant should have a strong commitment to undergraduate/graduate teaching and supervision.
