Postdoctoral Research PositionsHamilton, Ontario, CanadaApplications are invited for two postdoctoral research positions in (#1) Hydrologic data assimilation and (#2) Simulating natural flow regimes in ungauged basins under various climate change scenarios, respectively. The successful candidate for topic #2 will participate in a research project funded by Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources that focuses on the estimation of waterpower potential and environmental flow requirements at proposed sites for waterpower facilities under various climate change scenarios. This position is part of collaborative research project with scientists at the Renewable Energy Section, OMNR/Trent University and the Hydrology Research Group at McMaster University. Successful candidate for topic #1 will participate in a research project funded by Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physical Geography (Hydrology) or in Civil Engineering (Hydrologic/Water Resources Engineering). Experience in statistical hydrology and/or large scale/GIS hydrology can be an asset. The positions are awarded initially for one-year period and may be renewed for one additional year based on progress. The annual salary is approximately $40,000 plus additional funding for conference travel expenses. Review of applications will start on April 30, 2008 and appointment is expected by June 2nd, 2008.
