Geomodelling / Reservoir Geoscience Specialist

Nagra is involved in a project of the century by planning and constructing a deep geological repository for Switzerland's radioactive waste. After decades of scientific research, Nagra will propose a repository site in 2022. Together with the people living in the affected regions, Nagra's staff members think towards the future - with a view to the generations to come.

The Geology & Geophysics Section within the Safety, Geology & Radioactive Materials Division is looking for a

"Geomodelling / Reservoir Geoscience Specialist" (f/m) 80 - 100 %

to create integrated geological 3D models.

Technical Experience:


  • Extensive, hands-on industry experience in integrated reservoir characterization (15 years +) based on complex datasets from various geoscientific disciplines and generating integrated subsurface scenarios.
  • Extensive hands-on industry experience (10 years +) in building 3D static property models in complex geological settings based on all well and seismic data.
  • Expert Petrel User (10 years +, hands-on without backup)


  • Familiarity with reflection seismic interpretation
  • Familiarity with quantitative interpretation of geophysical borehole logs
  • Familiarity with geomechanical and hydrolgeological modelling
  • Working experience in collaboration rooms
  • Strong professional network in industry and academia
  • Record of relevant publications

  • Open-minded with affinity and experience in scientific ways of working,
  • Solid presentation skills and an ability to explain complex issues at the appropriate level of depth for the audience is necessary.
  • Planning and coordination skills with a proven track record to stay on time and in budget in long and complex projects
  • Excellent English skills are a must, knowledge of German is considered advantageous
