£34,956 to £46,924 Ref: 12790
Based in Milton Keynes or Homeworker
As an academic member of staff in the School of Environment, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, you will provide an important link between staff in Milton Keynes, our Student Support Team in Manchester, our part-time Associate Lecturers (distributed across the UK and Ireland) and students, located globally.
You will have a key role in ensuring we remain at the forefront of supported online and distance education, particularly in facilitating effective teaching of our Earth and Environmental programmes. You will be responsible for the management and development of part-time Associate Lecturers teaching our Stage 1 interdisciplinary science and Earth Science and Environmental Science modules.
You will have a good Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Earth Science, Environmental Sciences or a related field, and will ideally have some postgraduate study experience in the same fields.
You will either be based in Milton Keynes or be a designated home-worker, but will still work in Milton Keynes at least one day per week. As you will be responsible for supporting Stage 1 Associate Lecturer staff and students in either Greater London, East Midlands or SW England, you will also need to travel to this location on occasions during the working week and/or weekends.
You must be committed to the principles of equality and diversity in all aspects of your teaching and management support. Experience of online and/or distance education would be desirable.
The University is proud to have gained an Athena SWAN Institutional Bronze Award in April 2013, as well as holding an individual Silver and Bronze Award at School Level.
Closing date: 5pm, 15 November 2016
