We are seeking for a motivated candidate with a background in geophysics and good experience in numerical modelling to tackle several aspects of the Arctic geodynamic evolution. The Postdoctoral Fellow will interact with geologists and geophysicists from the Department of Geosciences (UiO) and seismologists from NORSAR and the Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences -IPGG (Novosibirsk, Russia) and some of the research focus will be established together with the successful candidate.

The project is part of the newly established Norwegian Center of Excellence CEED (Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics). The main goal of the centre is to develop a model that explains how mantle processes drive plate tectonics and trigger massive volcanism and associated environmental and climate changes throughout Earth's history. CEED provides a stimulating and well-funded research environment and offers a broad interdisciplinary computation and numerical simulation environment. The position is for 3 years. Position code 1352 (Postdoc), Pay Grade: 57-64 (from 468 400 to 533 000 NOK/year, depending on qualifications and seniority).
