PhD Research Fellowship in Geology/Geophysics (ARCEx)
Applications are invited for a 3-year Research Fellowship (PhD) at Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo (www.geo.uio.no). The fellowship is attached to the Research Centre for Arctic Petroleum Exploration (ARCEx), which is funded by the Research Council of Norway and several industry partners (www.arcex.no).
We seek a highly motivated geoscientist that can enrich and strengthen the department in subjects related to basin analysis and numerical modelling. The candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary research group (that includes structural geologists, sedimentologists, geophysicists, and modellers) from both national collaborators and industry partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrated basin analysis, including numerical modelling, of selected areas in the Barents Sea with emphasis on: (1) Contractional and inverted structures in the great Barents Sea area, and (2) Basin formation and syn-breakup structuring along the western Barents Sea margin.
