Project Officer: Isotope GeochemistryDepartment of Earth & Environmental SciencesMilton Keynes, Buckinghamshire Three year fixed-term contract £29,704 - £35,469 Ref: 5553 Working in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, you should be an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly qualified Project Officer, who will work within the Isotope Geochemistry group, a major research group in the department. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the group's clean chemistry laboratories, which supports six mass spectrometers that analyse a wide range of radiogenic and stable isotopes and trace elements. Your duties will include: liaison with a range of users, including provision of advice and training, and implementation of health and safety regulations; planning, co-ordination and monitoring of resources; development of new chemical separation procedures and the refining of existing techniques; and maintaining excellent quality control. You should be educated to degree level, in an Earth science or relevant subject or equivalent, and extensive relevant experience of high quality analytical laboratory work and laboratory management. Experience of working in the isotope geochemistry field would be an advantage.
