Three University Lecturerships



The Department of Earth Sciences proposes to appoint University Lecturers in each of three broadly defined areas from 1st September 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. Each appointment is associated with a Fellowship at one of Oxford's Colleges under arrangements described in the further particulars for each post. The salaries are from £42,883 per annum.

  1. University Lecturer in Palaeobiology and Tutorial Fellow of St Edmund Hall.
  2. University Lecturer in Geophysics and Non-Tutorial Fellow of Wolfson College.
  3. University Lecturer in Climate Science and Non-Tutorial Fellow of Linacre College.

The appointments will be initially for five years at which point, upon completion of a successful review, the post holder will be eligible for reappointment to the retiring age.

Successful candidates will be expected to carry out research, at an international level, that will contribute to the Department's research reputation, to secure research funding, to teach, supervise and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students, and to participate in and contribute to the administration of the Department.
