Open-Ended Contract
The Department of Earth Sciences is recruiting for a Noble Gas Mass Spectrometry Lab Manager to support the smooth running of four noble gas mass spectrometers and peripheral systems. The position will support research lead by Prof. Chris Ballentine.
Apart from the day-to-day maintenance of the noble gas analytical systems, you will be in charge of training and support for new and existing users of the laboratory. You will provide specialist technical advice for research activity and be capable of leading analytical technique innovation and advances.
You will have significant previous experience in the use and day-to-day maintenance of inorganic mass spectrometers and experience of ultrahigh vacuum systems and electronics design and repair, including control software and interfacing hardware. Knowledge of noble gas analysis and laser fusion and ablation systems is desirable.
The post is full time and is offered on an open-ended contract.
