Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Engineering Geology

Senior Lecturer: £32,796 - £40,335

The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences wishes to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Engineering Geology with industrial/consultancy experience and/or research capabilities.

Candidates should possess the appropriate dynamism, expertise and qualifications to contribute to the academic development of our undergraduate and postgraduate applied Geoscience programmes.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a broad engineering geological expertise and should be able to contribute substantially to some of the following subject areas: Soil and Rock Mechanics, Foundation Engineering, Ground Investigation and Assessment, Landslide Hazard Analysis, and Contaminated Land.

Teaching duties will also include active participation in the School's fieldwork programme. The successful candidate will be expected to develop professional research and/or consultancy activities by attracting external funding, thus enhancing and diversifying the academic profile and existing strengths within the School.
