Lecturer in Tectonics
The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is seeking to make an academic appointment in Earth Sciences.
The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a vibrant, multidisciplinary School with extensive teaching and research covering the fields of Geology, Geography, Environmental Science and Management, Occupational Health and Safety Sciences and Planning.
The successful appointee will be engaged as a Lecturer in Tectonics, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, postgraduate supervision and further development of the School's Earth Sciences areas, as well as performing research and producing research outputs of high quality. The position is part of a larger initiative to significantly strengthen research and training in Earth Sciences, especially in fields related to tectonics. While the position has been defined as being in this broad area it may include but is not limited to a combination of experience in disciplines such as geodynamics, tectonics including understanding of active and ancient plate margins, marine geology, stratigraphy, tectonic reconstruction, and computer modelling.
Applicants should possess a PhD in the field of tectonics or a closely related discipline. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research and teaching career and address globally significant issues in areas related to geodynamics, tectonics including understanding of active and ancient plate margins, marine geology, stratigraphy, tectonic reconstruction or computer modelling.

This is a full time, continuing appointment at Academic Level B. The remuneration package will be in the range of $92,142- $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package in the range $107,807- $128,020 p.a.).
