Visiting Assistant Professor (or Adjunct Instructor)

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Rochester invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor (or Adjunct Instructor) for the 2017-2018 academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Mineralogy/Earth Materials and two additional offerings. These may include Introduction to Geochemistry (preferred), and/or additional course offerings in the broad fields of Geologic Hazards, Environmental Geology, or Geodynamics/Geophysics.

Although this is a teaching position, opportunities to collaborate in research are available (see www.ees.rochester.edu for a description of the Department's research groups and facilities). Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, contact information for 3 references, and a brief statement of teaching interests to www.rochester.edu/faculty-recruiting. Questions regarding the application process should be directed to Professor Mauricio Ibanez Mejia (ibanezm@rochester.edu).

Preference will be given to those with a Ph.D. in geosciences. Review of applications will begin immediately; the position will remain open until filled, with preference given to applications received by June 30, 2017. The University of Rochester, an equal opportunity employer, has a strong commitment to diversity and actively encourages applications from candidates from groups underrepresented in higher education.
