The Geosciences business within RSK Group plc, is one of the UK's largest land quality consultancies. In addition, RSK has its own in-house site investigation contracting business (Structural Soils Ltd), and environmental laboratory (Envirolab Ltd). The business now has an exciting opportunity for Geo-environmental engineers to join the team in Hemel Hempstead. Working alongside an experienced team you will get involved with a vast array of projects predominately within the housing, energy and manufacturing sector.


Geo-environmental Engineers (Consultant Level)
Hemel Hempstead



Responsibilities

  • Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) and intrusive site investigations for environmental and/or geotechnical purposes
  • Managing fieldwork activities and subcontractors
  • Undertaking Project Management duties
  • Writing factual and/or interpretative reports
  • Preparing health and safety documentation, booking subcontractors and scheduling soil and water samples for analytical and geotechnical testing

Person specification

  • BSc degree level qualified in appropriate earth science or environmental subject essential
  • MSc in Contaminated Land related subjects preferable but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prepared to work as part of a team or as an individual
  • Knowledge of contaminated land and planning legislation would be an advantage
  • Candidates must be willing to spend a significant amount of their working day out on site and sometimes away from home.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary - £dependent on experience
