Junior researcher in Tectonics and Resources
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of Germany's leading research universities. The University draws its strengths from both the diversity and the proximity of scientific and engineering disciplines on a single, coherent campus. This highly dynamic setting enables students (m/f/d) and researchers (m/f/d) to work across traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties.
The newly established Tectonics and Resources Group at the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy and Geophysics invites applications for a junior researcher (TV-L E13 auf Zeit) with a focus on the geodynamic evolution of Precambrian mountain belts and/or the formation of hydrothermal ore deposits contained within them. The starting date is January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment is initially for three years. The successful applicant is expected to conduct research in the area of expertise, publish in internationally accredited journals and obtain external research funds. Other work responsibilities include teaching at the BSc and MSc level. The load of teaching will be calculated according to §3 of Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung (state of North Rhine-Westphalia).
Travel expenses for interviews cannot be refunded.
