University Appointments for Carbonate Sedimentologists

Funding is available for research and teaching positions in carbonate sedimentology. Salaries and postgraduate student stipends will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are essential.

Postdoctoral Appointments

Candidates with training and experience in all aspects of carbonate sedimentology are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. in geological sciences or a related field at time of appointment is required; candidates having senior-authored publications in refereed journals and experience generating external research funding are preferred, as is experience interpreting reflection seismic data. We seek especially scientists with expertise in depositional facies and sequence stratigraphy. Experience with both subsurface and outcrop-based investigations is preferred. There will be opportunities for classroom teaching and postgraduate student mentoring.

Ph.D. Student Appointments

Candidates with an interest in textural and chemical aspects of carbonate diagenesis, as well as facies interpretation, reservoir characterization, and modern sediment studies in carbonates, are invited to join us for Ph.D. studies. Access to and funding for modern, sophisticated laboratory analyses is available. Funding for travel, for both field work and presenting at international geological meetings, is also available.

Please send a cover letter, complete curriculum vitae with publication record, and three letters of reference to: R. P.
