Digital Marketing Professional

SEPM - Society for Sedimentary Geology is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Professional to join the organization and help us keep growing. Our aim is to help new and current members connect and collaborate more effectively through an SEPM digital experience. This position is initially a two-year project-oriented appointment with the potential to be extended beyond the initial two-years. Preference will be given to applicants with some earth or physical science-related background (e.g., STEM or geology, geophysics, geography, natural resources). SEPM has both Tulsa area headquarters staff and home office based staff, either option is available. The successful candidate can be a full-time employee, but SEPM is flexible and can accommodate a part-time position or a contractor. SEPM is an equal opportunity organization.

Compensation

Financial compensation will be determined based on background and experience. Benefits will be related to the type of employment (full-time, part-time, or contractor).

Responsibilities

  • Provide input for and implementation of a strategy for SEPM's digital experience, (such as social media and websites presence, data repositories, webinars, online conferences, etc.)
  • Work with SEPM staff, volunteer leadership and society membership to create exciting online content and communications
  • Prepare social media posts and emails for the sedimentary geoscience community that are consistent with SEPM's brand identity
  • Coordinate with SEPM staff to create specific marketing campaigns for events and publications
  • Analyze digital data to inform decision-making around website optimizationConduct social media audits to ensure best practices are being used

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications or a STEM area, geoscience background is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with major social platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Familiarity with a social media scheduling platform, such as Hootsuite, etc.
  • Familiarity with online meeting platforms such as Zoon, GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, etc.
  • Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms such as GitHub, Slack, etc.
  • Familiarity with image and video editing software
  • Experience executing paid social media campaigns
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communications
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • General knowledge of website Content Management Systems (SEPM uses a proprietary website CMS so training will be supplied)
