The School of Ocean and Earth Science (SOES) and the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment (SCEE) are seeking to make a joint appointment to an exceptional researcher who can undertake multi-disciplinary research in coastal or estuarine science. We are interested in applications from excellent researchers with a wide-range of backgrounds including but not restricted to: sediment dynamics; coastal and estuarine morpho-dynamics; coastal and estuarine oceanography and engineering solutions to coastal change.
You will be part of the Centre of Coastal Processes, Engineering & Management (CCPEM), a University-wide research team, as well as the Coastal and Shelf Research Theme at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton (NOCS) and the Energy and Coasts Research Division in SCEE.
You will have a PhD or equivalent in physically based coastal and estuarine science or engineering, with ideally postdoctoral or equivalent professional qualifications/experience in these areas.
You should have a proven publication record in internationally reviewed literature (or commercial equivalent) and a record of grant/contract capture commensurate with career stage.
The Fellowship is initially available for three years and the salary will be in the range of £25,888 - £31,840 pa. If successful, you will be offered a permanent academic position (in either School or as a joint appointment) at the end of the Fellowship.
