The department has promoted ocean floor-related international programs such as the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP).

We invite applications from candidates who have the geological and/or geochemical advanced skill and strong enthusiasm to explore new areas in basic research fields such as petrology in the oceanic crust and upper mantle, isotope geology on solid Earth and paleoceanography. Applicants should also have a strong interest in graduate and postgraduate education.
