Geoscientists ( 3 Positions ) at Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor levels

Courses currently offered: MSc. program (1 year), Degree in Petroleum Geoscience: Topics in:- Seismic Interpretation, Tectonics and Structural Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Reservoir Characterization and Modeling, Sedimentology, Well-log Analysis, Biostratigraphy, Petroleum Exploration and Prospect Assessment, Oil and Gas Field Studies, Sequence Stratigraphy and Petrophysics, Field Course and Dissertation.

BSc. program, (4 years), Degree in Geoscience.

Requirements.

Must be able to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Show previous experience in developing and teaching field courses. Demonstrate an excellent research record.

Areas of specialization required:

Palaeontology/Biostratigraphy, Reservoir Modelling and Sedimentology/Stratigraphy.

Be part of a core team playing a vital role in the development of a new four year undergraduate program and teaching/supervising at postgraduate level.

Existing facilities.

The Department has seven workstations with 3D seismic capabilities and a full suite of seismic interpretation and modeling, geostatistical/ petrophysical and Geosoft software.

In addition there is a spectrum of reservoir characterization software and ample industry data which provides outstanding potential for industry-relevant research involving the integration of 3D seismic and wireline data for predicting lithology, reservoir properties and hydrocarbon distribution.

Qualifications.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D in Geology or related subjects and have an excellent teaching and research record. Appointment : early career or experienced Geoscientist.

Terms and Conditions.

Level of appointment and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Competitive salary offered (at present there is no personal income tax in Brunei).
