UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 in Engineering Geophysics
Applications are invited for a temporary 24 month post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Civil Engineering.
We wish to appoint a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the field of Engineering Geophysics. The successful candidate will work on the GEOTECS project "Geophysical and Earth Observation Tools for Evaluating the Condition of Slopes". This project is funded by Science Foundation Ireland, Geological Survey of Ireland and the Environmental Protection Agency under the SFI Frontiers for the Future Programme. The aim of this project is to develop an approach, using distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) of fibre-optic cables, to enable near surface seismic monitoring of geotechnical infrastructure slopes (e.g. embankments/cuttings/flood defences).
Fixed Salary: €38,631 per annum
