Several 2013 Ph.D. level graduate student opportunities are available at the Department of Geological Sciences, Universidad Católica del Norte, Antofagasta, Chile. We seek motivated students interested in pursuing a PhD in a variety of Earth Sciences disciplines, including Geodynamics, Neotectonics, Near-Surface Processes, Economic Geology, Geochemistry, Hydrogeology and Basin Analysis.

The Program offers financial support including stipend and university fees for the first year as well as laboratory, fieldwork and fellowship travel support. Continuation within the program after the first year is subjected to the candidate´s ability to obtain a scholarship by the Chilean National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT).

Full support will be given to applicants during the application process.

Completed applications should include the following: (1) CV, (2) transcripts and degree certificate issued by the applicant´s university, (3) letter of intent and research interest, and (4) two recommendation letters.
