Postdoctoral Researcher in Economic
Geology/Structural Geology

We are seeking to appoint a creative scientist with the ability to produce a 4-D tectonic-structural-stratigraphic framework for the emerging world-class Pataz gold district in Peru within the broader tectonic setting of the eastern Andes in Peru. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct field-based geology, mapping in difficult terrain and conduct multiscale and multidisciplinary data interpretation combining structural geology, metamorphic petrology, lithogeochemistry and geochronology.

A Ph.D. in Geology or Mineralogy and high-quality written and oral communication skills in English language are required. Oral communication in Spanish is desired. You will have demonstrated excellence in research through publication in internationally peer reviewed high-impact journals. We expect a limited (2-4 weeks) amount of undergraduate teaching to be conducted.

We offer a dynamic research environment in a research group focussed on mineral system analyses across a variety of commodities. The position is available immediately on a full-time basis for two (2) years. Salary is according to the UWA salary scale. The position will provide a large degree of freedom for research; further training and qualifications are supported. The Centre for Exploration Targeting is one of the world's leading research groups in economic geology, with CET located in one of the world's most liveable cities directly near the Indian Ocean.
