The Faculty's Department of Earth Sciences hosts the Environmental and Water Science (EWS) and Applied Geology (APG) programmes, and occupies state-of-the-art facilities in both of the new Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences buildings. Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Resource Geology and Digital Earth Sciences
This position offers an opportunity for a highly motivated, dynamic individual who has the potential to emerge as one of the future leaders in combining Resource Geology with the advances in Digital Earth Sciences in Southern Africa. Applications are invited from candidates with research and teaching experience in these fields. Candidates will have demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality courses at introductory and advanced levels in Resource Geology that integrate GIS and other relevant developments in Digital Earth Sciences. The Department of Earth Sciences operates the only non-commercial Highly Immersive Visualisation Environment (HIVE) on the African Continent, and the incumbent is expected to drive the integration of this facility into the research and teaching programmes of the Department.
