Engineering Geologist - Landslide and Geohazards Specialist based at our headquarters in Keyworth, Nottingham.
You will contribute to shallow geohazard projects on landslides, which form part of the BGS scientific programme in the UK and overseas. In addition, you will assist with the development of BGS's research on landslides within the Shallow Geohazards & Risk Team, including identifying and pursuing research opportunities (grants, research programmes and commissioned work). Other duties include developing collaborations across BGS and externally to deliver integrated multi-disciplinary projects involved with geohazard & environmental geological assessments, together with contributing to scientific papers and high quality technical/scientific proposals and reports to enhance personal and BGS Geological Engineering Science reputation.
You should be educated to 2:1 or higher in a Geoscience subject and have an MSc/PhD in a related discipline. In addition, you must possess excellent project management, people and both oral and written communication skills. The post involves team working therefore you should be able to work effectively with others.
Depending on qualifications and experience, full time starting salary will be £35,222 to £38,254 per annum.
