Senior/ Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Here at CET Infrastructure (a trading division of Construction Testing Solutions Ltd.) we are looking for an individual to join our growing team in the Geo Consultancy department.

Main Purpose of Role

To ensure Geotechnical investigations are carried out in accordance with current regulation and approved procedures, in a safe and timely manner in the areas of contaminated land, land condition and waste management. To develop customer relations in key sectors to support business growth.

Core Responsibilities

  • The efficient and day to day management of contracts
  • To ensure the consultancy team is well motivated and act as an effective and coherent team
  • To manage the day to day activities of the consultancy team
  • To ensure all financial procedures and processes are adhered to by all staff
  • To ensure the Health & Safety of all personnel within the consultancy team and the implementation of the company safety policies in conjunction with the Business Assurance Manager
  • To assist the senior management in the implementation and maintenance of the requirements of the CET's quality and associated procedures
  • To oversee and monitor the site works and staffing levels in conjunction with the Consultancy Manager and Principal Engineers/ Scientists
  • To ensure all documentation for the works is in accordance with the administrative procedures
  • Inform the Consultancy Manager if the CET standard terms and conditions are not agreed by the client prior to works commencing
  • To coach and develop subordinate's performance in all aspects of promoting best practice and maintaining skill levels
  • To ensure all consultancy team members have received adequate training commensurate with their duties
  • To carry out any other tasks as identified by the Consultancy Manager/Principal Engineer or Scientists

Education/ Training

Degree qualified (or higher) in Geology, Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related subject.

Desirable training:

  • CSCS Card (or higher e.g. SSSTS)
  • CAT & Genny training
  • First Aid Training
  • Asbestos Awareness Training
  • PTS

Experience required

Experience of providing Geotechnical consultancy services and site investigations across a broad spectrum of clients, sectors and projects

Skills & Abilities

  • Clean driving license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English essential
  • Computer literate in MS Office
