Research Engineer -
Water Recycling Processes

The Position:

We are seeking a Research Engineer to participate in a multi-disciplinary research group to develop quantitative methods and models to describe water recycling systems and processes (natural and engineered), and to undertake experimental and monitoring design and statistical analysis, including in managed aquifer recharge studies and developing new statistical approaches to risk assessment with data of different types.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Apply quantitative skills for experimental design and interpretation;
  • Develop analytical and numerical models to simulate natural and engineered processes in water recycling;
  • Write computer programs to process SCADA and other data into formats for use in simulations and other calculations, including use of web-based data acquisition and reporting systems;
  • Publish methods and results in the literature.

Location: Waite Campus, Urrbrae, Adelaide, South Australia

Salary: AUD$86K - $93K plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Indefinite /Ongoing

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • A PhD qualification (or Masters Degree and several years relevant research experience which, taken together, are equivalent to this educational standard) in environmental, civil or chemical engineering or applied mathematics in developing pragmatic methods and models to simulate water treatment processes;
  • Experience in use of statistics for design and analysis of experiments and effective programming skills for advanced data processing;
