Intermediate Level Engineering/Environmental Geologist



Description: Initial 3 Month Opportunity for an Intermediate Level Engineering/Environmental Geologist.
Location: South Wales and beyond.
Salary range: £20,000 to £25,000 per annum

Earth Science Partnership has an opportunity available for UK based intermediate level Engineering/Environmental Geologist. We are a firm of engineers, geologists and applied environmental scientists who excel in understanding ground processes and providing effective solutions for a range of commercial and private clients. We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced candidate that has substantial relevant experience in site investigation, engineering/environmental geology and land assessments in the UK with a proven track record. Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and managing site investigations;
  • Accurate Technical Record Keeping;
  • Client Liaison;
  • Management of other Staff and Sub-Contractors;
  • Risk identification and management.

The ideal candidate should be educated to degree or masters level in Geology, Engineering Geology or Earth Sciences and have significant relevant experience. You should be proficient in the use of software such as HoleBase/AGS, and be up to date with the latest industry standards, e.g. EC7, BS5930 and BS10175.

You will need to be organised and self-motivated and willing to work away from home and the office. The role will involve regular individual field visits which may be at short notice and for extended periods.

Essential Experience and Competencies

  • 3 to 8 years experience in scoping, design, implementation and supervision of investigation and assessment programs;
  • Analysis and reporting of investigation data (field and laboratory);
  • Managing and supervising field staff on geotechnical/geoenvironmental investigations;
  • Data management and interpretation of data from investigations;
  • Project management and liaison with clients;
  • Good knowledge of standards and specifications related to geotechnical/geoenvironmental investigations;
  • Effective written and oral communications skills.
