Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors

Surveying Engineer


The Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors consortium (FCBC), comprising HOCHTIEF solutions, American Bridge International, DRAGADOS and Morrison Construction, have been appointed to design and construct a new cable stayed bridge over the Firth of Forth, together with new road connections both north and south of the estuary.

The contract is worth £790 million, and the new bridge is scheduled for completion in 2016. Design work is well underway, with construction work now underway.

Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors are looking for an experienced Survey Engineer to work within our busy Survey Department.

Key roles/duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Stake out surveys
  • As built surveys
  • Survey works for concrete and steel works
  • Survey work for pylons, bridge decks and cantilever bridge
  • Office based tasks relevant to the survey department

The person will meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrable significant experience on major civil engineering projects
  • A degree in land surveying
  • AutoCAD 3D experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Access)
  • Competent in processing survey data
  • Experience of GNSS surveying techniques

The site will operate 24 hours a day, so there may be the occasional requirement to work overtime or nightshift.
