Halcrow Group Ltd are a multi disciplinary engineering consultancy covering all aspects of Civil Engineering, we have office's that cover the whole of the UK and the rest of the world. Due to our continued growth we are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to manage and undertake geotechnical design work for a wide variety of interesting projects from our growing Peterborough office. These projects include foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, flood defences and embankments. You will liaise with project teams of varying complexity and size. The successful candidate will be required to assist in leading a group of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists involved with the investigation, design and construction monitoring of a wide variety of projects in Peterborough and the surrounding area. You will be working on geotechnical aspects of projects in all of Halcrow's business groups which cover Transportation, Environment, Planning and Water and Power.

The priorities of this role include:

• planning and designing ground investigations
• preparation of technical specifications.
• undertaking geotechnical calculation and design work
• monitoring construction works
• preparing technical notes and geotechnical reports
• mentoring members of your team
• liaising with contractors and clients, both external and internal

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:

• proven geotechnical design experience (slopes, foundations, earthworks)
• able to demonstrate skills in geotechnical design software Slope/W, Seep/W, Reward, Frew, Holebase or similar
• Must be able to work within a team
• degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology
• MSc (or equivalent) in Soil Mechanics or Engineering Geology
• Chartered Engineer or Geologist
