Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist
Location: Almondsbury, Bristol
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist you will be responsible for the design, management, supervision and reporting of geotechnical and/or geo-environmental assignments including (but not limited to): desk studies, ground investigations (factual and interpretative), human health, groundwater and gas risk assessments and preparation of Remediation Method Statements.
You will also provide clients with geotechnical and/or geo-environmental advice and assistance as required on an ad hoc basis and negotiate and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities (NHBC, EA, LA etc.) as necessary.
You will have a good working knowledge of appropriate British Standards, Eurocodes, Industry Guidance and NHBC Standards.
In addition to your technical role, you will assist in the day to day operational management of the workload of your team, including staff scheduling and co-ordination of resources in conjunction with the Principal Consultant/Team Leader.
You will also be required to provide advice and mentoring to more junior staff within the team as well as advice and assistance to members of other, related, teams within Hydrock.

You will hold a BEng, BSc or higher technical qualification in a relevant subject (geology, civil engineering, environmental science etc.) and will be working towards Chartered Engineer/Geologist status. You will also have at least six years of relevant experience, ideally gained in ground investigation, interpretation and reporting.
The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with good analysis and technical capability in MS Word. Experience of MS Excel, AutoCAD and geotechnical assessment and modelling would also be desirable.
