Senior Socio-environmental Assessment Leader



Location: Vancouver, BC
Status: Full-time

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCBL) Vancouver operation requires a Senior Socio-environmental Assessment Leader to support the substantial growth of our Environmental Group across Canada and South and Central America. We have a number of world class projects underway that require the additional support of an experienced industry professional.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience, preferably resource dominated in Hydro-electric and Mining. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong aquatic and/or terrestrial background.
  • Minimum Masters degree, or equivalent. A higher degree is preferred.
  • Proven project management skills and contract administration with focus on project delivery and loss prevention is an asset.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong technical capability, report writing and communication skills in English. Bilingual (particularly French or Spanish) capabilities would be an asset.
  • Experience in planning, permitting, application of field programs is critical, as is design and assessment experience.
  • Have demonstrable experience in various stages and aspects of projects from concept, baseline, design, construction, operation and closure.
  • Have experience in dealing with senior regulatory authorities and high-level external technical review groups, and be able to communicate technical arguments on their level.
  • Have experience in leading technical teams, and working with peripheral and complimentary design groups to achieve design end-goals.
  • Be prepared to occasionally work in remote and varying environments, sometimes with limited communication and logistical support, always with unique challenges.
  • Show comprehension and application of strong business ethics and health, safety and environmental principles.
