Senior Geochemist



Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada and Brisbane, Australia
Status: Full-time

Klohn Crippen Berger's Mining Environmental Group (MEG) are looking for technical discipline leaders, both in our Vancouver BC and Brisbane Queensland offices with experience working in and leading project teams. There is opportunity for travel in Canada and Australia as well as opportunities to work internationally. These are exceptional opportunities for the successful candidates to play leading technical roles in the assessment of geochemistry, acid rock drainage, neutral drainage and metal leaching issues for a number of global operations. You will be working with world-class teams from our various offices, along side industry recognized experts on large and technically challenging projects. Qualifications:

  • Masters in geology, chemistry or engineering (PhD. is an asset)
  • Minimum 10 years related geochemical experience or the equivalent of education and experience.
  • Geochemical experience and knowledge is required in the areas of geochemical characterization, acid rock drainage, neutral rock drainage, water quality modelling, treatment / remediation and test programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with applicable legislation in your home office and internationally.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist or other appropriate professional organization in Canada or Australia.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (other languages e.g. Spanish, French are assets).
  • Demonstrated report writing skills.
  • Good contract administration and project management skills.
  • Track record as an effective team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to travel within Canada, Australia and Internationally.
